Cedars-Sinai 6NW Christmas Party

My Job had there christmas party on December 19, 09. It was held out in Beverly Hills in a little asian restaurant. The party started at 4pm, but i like to make an entrance and arrived at 8pm. All of my coworkers were laughing, playing games, and having a ball. Everyone complimented on my dress but said i was too dressed up for a hospital christmas party. I had a good excuse, i was going out later. These are some of the pics from that night....
The crazy girls of 6NW. Now these girls know how to party!
Ana, Valerie, Adela, Nelia, Rudy, and someone who i cant remember there name (whoops)
Me with my CN IV. In other words.... my boss, Honee.
Shes so sweet. Always willing to work with my school schedule.

D was the DJ for the night :) He did a great job!

The 3 bosses.
HA! Omi makes me laugh.
Adela is one of a kind.
Awww, My Patty :) Aint he adorable

Jeffer, Omar, and Elson.
Jeffer was actually hitting on me the entire night until he realized that we've met before at Elsons Thanksgiving BBQ then he stopped. AKWARD!!! HA! Jeffer is Elsons friend from nursing school.

TJ did a amazing lyrical dance. LOVED IT!!!

Max and i were called up to the dance floor. Max was given a bandana and told to put it around my eyes. I was a little uneasy. Especially hearing Maxis evil laugh as he tighed it. Max and I are pretty tight and are always fooling around so i was worried about what was next.

so my luck. The game was to put lipstick on him. HA! Oh he wasnt too happy. I couldnt stop laughing as i was doing it. The entire time he kept mumbling.. "Woman, Dont mess this up" "Woman, up to high.. go lower." I loved this!!!
Were a good team. Until we found out that the winner is the person with the messiest lipstick. Boooo!!!!!!!

My FAVORITE coworkers :) (were missing D)

Jina (My favorite girl) and her boyfriend Sammy (whom loves me because im a USC fan)

Ken (Elsons twin), Omar, and Elson (who was my preceptor for nursing school)

ReVive at V-Lounge

^D & I on his special night^

My coworker, Daryl (or "D" as i call him). Absolutely loves to DJ. He has been doing little gigs around town, mostly at birthday parties & Hollywood hills parties. On November 12, 09 he was booked to DJ at V-Lounge in Santa Monica. He was so stoked when he told me about it. All of our coworkers planned to go and support him.

My friend, Jen, wasnt getting off work until 10 pm, by the time we arrived at V-Lounge, D had already DJed. I was so dissapointed that i missed his performance. Well we still had fun!

what can ya do but laugh... an add on!

If you read my previous post you know all about my "car issues." well if you recall... at the end of the post i said "whats next?!?" Well it finally happened. I knew it wouldnt take long before this would eventually happen. Well your probably wondering what im taking about.... I ran out of gas! Yup, i sure did.

After my med-surg final (thursday) I was driving with cynthia to the grocery store. I saw that my gas was running on low, i knew that there was a gas station right next to the grocery store so i waited until we go there. About 2 blocks away (on Laurel Cyn) I push the gas and notice that my car just wasnt going. "OH NO!!" I quickly try to get over to the side into a residential area. My car was extremely difficult to manipulate. Well, Me and cynthia had to puch my car (only a few feet) into a parking spot. Then we walked to the gas station... how embarassing!

Oh well.. what can ya do but laugh!

OH, FYI a am officially DONE with all of my nursing classes!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am doing my preceptor at Cedars-Sinai with my awesome coworker Elson Suico. YAY!

What can ya do but laugh!

Me and my lil Toyota Corolla have been through A LOT in the past 3 months... Shall we begin at the top of the list...

I put in a new subwoofer in my car. Of course, it decided to stop working. My car stereo sound like crap without the base. Ugh! so i had to go get that fixed.

On a sunny, HOT day... i was going to the bank down by my best friends house (which is only about 7 min from my house). As soon as i pull out of the banks parking lot, i noticed my car was acting funny. It was tilting towards one side and it wouldnt go very fast. I could also hear this odd noise, which scared me... i thought it was the engine. So i pulled over. and sure it was a FLAT TIRE!!! Ugh. Really? So i tried taking a small road back home. My trail of though was... "i dont know how to change a tire so if i make it home i can call someone to come fix it." Well i made it around the corner from my house and my car just wouldnt go anymore. I was freaking out! I called my best friend to come help me. He was at work, he left work early to come help me. As soon as he arrived he started laughing "THIS WOULD ONLY HAPPEN TO YOU!" he said. He was my hero that day.

About 2 days later. I took my parents truck to downtown LA to pick up some merchandise for their business. I stepped out of the truck and did my usual shopping. When the company was about to load the truck up with merchandise i realized that i couldn't find my keys. I looked through the window and saw my keys hanging from the ignicion. Locked out! Great!

I went to one of my friends, Rashon's bday party. I went with Jen. It was about 2:30am. We were starving. So me and Jen decided to stop at a 24hr subway. After, i took Jen home and headed home. I decided to eat my subway on my way home. I was driving on the 101 when i noticed a car right on my ass (note: the freeway was completly empty!). It freaked me out! My two thoughts: drunk driver or cop. So i switched lanes (mind you, still eating my sandwich). If it was a drunk driver i wanted to get as far away from that car as possible. As soon as i switched lanes... BAM! Cop light turn on... yeah, i was getting pulled over "SON OF A B!" This was my very 1st time getting pulled over, EVER!! I was freaking out inside. But more importantly i was couldn't remember if i payed my insurance for that month (in cali they have strict rules about driving without a insurance.. they pretty much take your car away on the spot). So i get pulled over and they ask me "have you been drinking tonight" i say "no." They tell me that i was swirving on the fwy. So they do a sobriety test on me. They have me do a field test. So they made me walk in a straight line, check my pupil reaction to light, then send me back to my car. 2 min later they tell me to drive safe. Phew!

My trunk decided to stop opening. Yup, it sure did. Thats still not fixed til this day...

I was downtown, about 2 wks ago. If you ever drive there you know how crowded it is. So traffic was moving and the care in front of me decided to STOP (for no reason), as soon as i saw the car stopping i slammed on my breaks but i knew that i wasnt going to stop. All of a sudden everything was in slow motion. Then i hit the car, going about 25mph. I got out and looked at the damage.... NO DAMAGE ON EITHER CAR! Not even a scratch.. Phew! i was so lucky!

Labor day. Went to my friends baseball game with Jen & Chantelle. Chantelle wanted me to drive her car. As soon as i get on the fwy i noticed i didnt have my license on me.. Crap! Ok, so i was driving fine.. when all of a sudden i notice... yup, getting pulled over... AGAIN! For what?!? My friends windows tint is illegal & she has a plastic cover over her license place (which is also illegal). Oh great! I got off lucky.. again. while she got a "fix it" ticket. We laughed so hard. We just couldnt believe what had just happened.

I was studying at borders. When i was heading home.. my car decided that it didnt want to start. I called chantelle to come boost it. But instead i got a guy to help me. Well, the next day my car wouldnt start again. Yup, needed a new battery. Oh man!

Yesterday, i let my mom borrow my car. Well, when i noticed... my driver side mirror was broken and was stuck on with duck tape. Really?!? Duck tape?!?! Oh man... gotta get that fixed now too....

Thats my car issues... i wonder whats next?!

This week i attended 4th semester workshop.. wow! 4th semester already, where has the time gone?? I cant believe this is my LAST semester of the RN program. Its been a loooong journey. But its one adventure i will hold very close to my heart. I have found my best friends in the entire world. My best friend called us "1", and trully that is the only way to explain our relationship. Love you Mondo, Chantelle, Joshy, Niesha, and Vanessa. You guys are the BEST!!!!!!!!!!

We graduate December 18, 2009. I have already turned in my petition for graduation! It was odd for all of us filling out the graduation paperwork but what an amazing feeling.

Our graduation ceremony/party is finally coming along. It will be December 21, 09. I cant wait!!! My sister is coming to my graduation.. yay!! Were also having our pinning ceremony at the same time. This is when we are "pinned" with our nursing pin by one of our instructors.. its a BIG deal in nursing.

Santa Barbara & Wine Country

Sunday, Aug 4. Time: 10:30am. Joshua, Armando, Chantelle, Jennnifer, and I hopped into the Beemer and headed for a one day adventure. This was a complete spir of the moment trip. We arrived around noon-ish. It was absolutely georgeous. As soon as we arrived in SB (santa barbara) we saw a little wine tasting room and decided to give it a try. It was really nice! I am a white wine drinker, not a big fan of the red. It was shocked at how cheap it is to taste 6 different types of wines... $5! what a bargain! Joshy prepaired a little mini summary of our trip.. in the "thick" packet he gave us; it included wine tasting rules... such as: swirl the wine, smell the wine, taste the wine, and dump the wine. Yes, it is proper to just take a small taste of the wine and dump it in a special container. Jen and I were uphold by this... who would dump perfectly good wine? Josh explained that you don't want to get drunk, that way you can hit more wineries. So 3 or the 6 wines were white, i really enjoyed that part (and no, i did not dump the wine). Then the Reds arrived... i took one very small sip and DUMPED! Yuck. Im just not a fan! After all of our wine everyone was a little 'tipsy', except for me.. since i didnt drink the red wine. We then headed to downtown SB, and cruised the blvd and did a quick look at the town. We were all starving so we decided to grab a late lunch at "the fish house." The food and drinks were DELISH! We had a perfect view of the ocean from our table. We were anxious to get to wine country so we hopped into the car and then we were on our way.... 30 min later we arrive at destination B. We stopped at our first winery called "Buttonwood." We got to sample 12 wines. At this winery we are able to roam the grape vines as you sample the wines. It was absolutely gorgeous. They are also known for there famous Peaches and Peach pie. Armando, of course, picked one of the peaches off the tree. They were delish! just perfect. After having a tease, from that one peach, we had to buy a peach pie. Back to the wine tasting... as the attendant pours the wines into our glassed they tell something about the type of wine you are about to taste such as: what special favor should you expect, ex: At first it is fruity but at the end you can taste a bit of cherry." After all the wines we tasted we found out that we get to keep our wine glasses... Wahoo! We were all excited :) I have my very 1st wine glass.
Our 2nd winery... We saw this stunning little white building surrounded by gorgeous green grass. It looked like a secret getaway, hidden in the trees. It was called "Rideau Vineyard." We walked in and started our wine tasting. And we walked out with another lovely wineglass and some colorful beed neckleses. Oh, and Jen bought this very cute mask. I love it! Its so cute.
3rd winery... We stopped at the famous winery called "Blackjack" or some people might know it as "Sideways" that was featured in the movie "Sideways." Personally, i didnt know what this movie was about so i didnt care much for it. We met some guys from France, that had that sexy accent ;) After we headed to the local casino. Of course i gambled $2, and lost it. Im not a gambler so i didnt feel the need to loose more money. Mondo, on the other hand, won $50, then lost it. We all walked away empty handed. We had dinner at the casino... DELISH! They had everything you can think of. It was a perfect getaway!

where to begin?

So much has occured this summer. The day after school ended i headed to Utah and spent 2 wonderful weeks with my sister and her family. I absolutely love spending time with them. We took a trip up to Bear Lake, which i love. I havent been up there since i was a little lad. I miss them so much. I of course go to see my closest friends there too. We had such a blast! My two besties, in utah, decided to have a little fun with my birthday. Every restaurant that we went to the decided to tell the staff that it was my birthday... and oh did they believe it! Yes, Renae and Heather got a KICK out of it. lol. i love and miss you girls!

I have been working my buns off at the hospital. I've been trying to put in as many hrs before school starts. I cant believe that next week 4th semester workshops begin. Wow, where has my summer gone?!? Ive trully have loved working at this hospital. Ive become extremely close with all the staff. We crack jokes all night. The guys like teasing me, which is great because they keep me up all night (yes, i work night shifts). We celebrated Susan's birthday last week. Susan is one of the smartest nurses you will ever meet. She is always willing to help me learn. Patrick, Jina, and I decided to buy her a cake.. but not just any cake... a "PORTOS" cake... Mmmm! Those cakes are too die for. She was so excited. We work with a lot of filipino nurses. It is custom to have the birthday girl buy food for the entire unit... Susan bought everyone Tai food, and we swallowed it whole! Pics to come... there posted on my facebook.

Vanessa, one of my closest friends, had a pool party a few weeks ago. It was so much fun! Pics to come.... or you can just look on my facebook.

Jennifer's birthday was also a few weeks ago... we celebrated at "barneys beanery" in burbank. then to "Lucys" in NoHo. It so great getting the gang all together. We laughed the entire night!

I talked my best boys into going to "The Melting Pot". We decided to go all out. Its a once in a lifetime experience...especially since it hurt our wallets when the check came. Who knew that dipping food into cheese could be such an adventure! We had a ball! We were all completely stuffed and then dessert came. OH MY GOODNESS!!! There desert platter is to die for!!!!!!! We could not put it down. We probably gained 10 lbs on desert itself.

What else... Oh, i chopped off my hair. Shortest i have ever gone. Everyone LOVES it, but im not so sure how much i like it.

Like i said, 4th semester workshops start next week and school starts exactly 1 month from today. Im so anxious to get started! Im ready to begin my last semester of the nursing program... yay!
